"What shoulder, & what art”
Sunday saw a resounding 92 - 24 victory for the Bedford Tigers wheelchair team over the Woodland Warriors!
The Tigers were in scoring mood from the very first attack and had opened a 34 point lead before Warriors finally scored to reward the committed efforts across their team.
This saw Warriors enjoyed a short purple patch, scoring three more tries, and somewhat regaining control of the game before the Tigers were able to cross the line again.
With no substitutes, this fixture was always going to be difficult day for the travelling opposition, as Tigers rotated their squad of eight well to ensure that there were always fresh wheels and arms on the pitch.
Despite this, the Warriors played well with the ball, utilising their key players well in order to dodge tackles and play off loads to their supporting runners, and this is where they got their best returns, but unfortunately for them Bedford were in white hot form.
There were five try scorers for Tigers on the day, with speedster Aymun Khan touching down six times to lead the way!
Rick Rogers kicked all but two of his conversions, scored four tries and embodied all that is good in the sport. Engaging in positive encouragement not only to the junior members of his team but to the opposition as well.
The Tigers sit top of the table after two rounds with visits from Anglian Vipers and Brentwood Eels yet to come!
