The Tigers impressed the Wheelchair Rugby League world despite the debut loss.

Despite the result, the debut of the Tigers Wheelchair team has been hailed a huge success.
Experienced players from opponents, Sheffield Eagles, as well as International players and the head of the game Martin Coyd all heaped praise on how good the event was.

Music, match announcer, half time entertainment as well as a first class facility at the University of Bedfordshire all lead to the shared opinion.

"The 100 plus people in attendance have been given a real treat, as have the players. Bedford have really shown what can be done around wheelchair games", commented Martin Coyd in a speech after the game.

Captain Rick Rodgers scored the Tigers' only points of the game with a try either side of half time and complemented one with a conversion.

We are always looking to recruit for our wheelchair side and if you or someone you know would like to get involved as a player or volunteer we would love to hear from you ahead of our 2024 activity which we will look to start in January!

We would like the thank the crowd who joined us for the day and everyone who made it such a special occasion too!
