The Tigers Men got their 2024 Southern Conference League campaign off to a winning over London Skolars, securing a first win in the capital for over a decade!

Both sides begin the season in somewhat of a rebuild. The Skolars came down from League 1 this year while the Tigers are looking to bounce back from being wooden spooners in 2023!

The Skolars got off to a flying start, racing into a 12- nil lead. The Tigers chipped back at the lead with trys from Josh Lofty and Rory Town.

The Skolars once again opened up a two score lead before Jake Tilford linked with Josh Hudson-Lett who beat numerous defenders to a 90m try. Rob Ashton landed all three conversions to keep the Tigers within touching distance at the break.

Five second half trys and some incredible touch line goal kicking from club stalwarts Rob Ashton and Sam Richbell were enough to seal victory inspite of Ashton's yellow card seven minutes from time.

Jake Tilford got the first, diving over from close range followed by the pick of the bunch from Josh Hudson-Lett who ran the full 100m this time to score from a kick return!

Rory Town completed a brace while Isa Mohammed rounded off a Man of the Match performance with a try in the corner.

Tilford gained his second try assist when he threaded the needle to put academy product, Brad McKenna into the corner to win the game late on!

We travel to London again next week to face reigning SCL champions, Hammersmith.
