TIGERS TO OPEN SEASON AT GOLDINGTON ROAD

TIGERS TO OPEN SEASON AT GOLDINGTON ROAD

Rob Ashton7 Apr - 19:32

We will kick off our 2025 campaign at the home of the Blues!

Goldington Road will host mens Rugby League for the first time on Saturday 26th April (KO 3pm) against Eastern Rhinos.

After celebrating their 20th anniversary last year, Tigers are back with renewed ambition and looking to continue their upwards trajectory. We travel to North Herts Crusaders on the opening weekend but will be stepping out at Goldington Road upon our return to Bedford for round 2, hunting a first win over the Rhinos since May 2022.

Adult tickets are just £5 when purchased online, saving £2 on matchday prices and Kids for a Quid! Tickets are already on sale.

To enhance your matchday experience, why not book into the Burrow at the Blues and enjoy a street-food feast with Chicken George, live sport on the hallowed turf and TV screens, plus entertainment. Book online for just £25pp.

Bedford Tigers Director of Rugby, Rob Ashton said: “It's an incredible opportunity for us to raise the profile of the club and our version of the sport. Bedford has such an incredible rugby following and we want people to know they have a club to call their own in the summer too.

“Working with the Blues and playing at Goldington Road just shows how far the divide between the two codes has come. And how forward thinking Bedford's rugby supporters are.

"We are looking forward to creating something special on the 26th and proving that rugby league absolutely works outside of its heartlands!"

Bedford Blues Chief Operating Officer, Gareth Alred said: “We are delighted to support Rob and the Tigers for this one-off game at the home of the Blues. With no fixtures for either of our senior sides that weekend, it made sense for both clubs to work together and hopefully gives our supporters chance to enjoy more rugby at Goldington Road.”
