The Tigers were back in London for the second time in as many weeks for round 2 of the Southern Conference League.
The was never any real expectation on last years' Wooden Spooners to come away with a result at the home of the reigning champions, but seemingly nobody told the 2024 Tigers that!
Leading 6 - 18 on the half hour mark, the astonishing start was abruptly halted when full back Josh Spearing went down with a game ending injury.
Hammersmith capitalised on the fresh disorganisation and scored three tries to take a slender lead into the break.
Not to be disheartened, the Tigers regrouped at half time and stuck with the game right to the death, clawing back a three score deficit at one point to finish the game just 6 points adrift!
The loss may be disappointing but the positives are there. This new look side is capable of some good things this summer!
Next week we face a long trip to Bristol to take on the All Golds who got off to a winning start yesterday at North Herts Crusaders
