The Tigers are set to compete at Under 14 and Under 16 age groups in 2018

As part of the club's rugby league development programme, we have formed both U14 and U16 age groups for 2018 and they will compete in the newly formed Bedfordshire Junior Rugby League competition.

As part of the "bigger picture" the Tigers have created 3 new clubs in the county and will run and administer the competition themselves.

Ampthill Hornets, Dunstable Dragons and Luton Vipers will form the rest of the 4 way competition in 2018 and both age groups have already attracted a lot of interest!

The concept is being organised by a group of senior players from both Bedford and Luton and is set to drive participation in rugby league through the roof this summer! With an estimated 20 players per age group, there is likely to be 160 people playing rugby league who otherwise wouldn't be exposed to this great game!

"I've run the senior section at the Tigers for the past 7 years. Each year we get new players come down and after a few games they all say they wish rugby league was available to them growing up. So I took that idea and ran with it" said Rob Ashton. "We've always struggled to launch Juniors as the nearest comp would have us travelling into London. So by setting something up just in Bedfordshire, everything is a lot more accessible.

The Bedfordshire Junior Rugby League programme kicks off for 11 weeks on the 5th May and will run through to mid July, just before the summer holidays starts. And at just £60 for the entire season its very well priced too!

All sessions will take place on Saturday mornings from 10am - 11:30am

Anyone can come and take part, weather you play for a junior Union club, School Team or just fancy giving a new sport a try come on down and sign up anytime at the sessions!
