STAR STUDDED CARDIFF SIDE END TIGERESSES SEASON

STAR STUDDED CARDIFF SIDE END TIGERESSES SEASON

Rob Ashton15 Aug 2023 - 16:06

WOMENS SUPER LEAGUE (SOUTH) Cardiff Demons 74 - 8 Bedford Tigers

With 18 of their squad either full international or pathway players, Cardiff proved their pedigree as they ran in 10 tries to end the Tigresses season at the Play Off stage.

The Welsh outfit have been a huge success story over the past 3 years having gone from strength to strength and reached their third Women's Super League South Grand Final in as many years.

With injuries and the long journey taking a toll on the Tigers the side wasn't as compete as we'd have liked but with no pressure on us it was a chance to have some fun and finish the season with the unity of character that has become the cornerstone of the group.

Shiv Drummond and Caz Collie both got themselves over the line proving that in spells we can very much compete with the best of them!

The season is by no means a disappointment though! Wins against Bristol and Thurrock and good performances against Cardiff, London Broncos and the Army show how far we have come in three years. And we are now able to boast a second team who won the inaugural East RL competition.

We have also successfully launched an U16s academy which we know will provide stars of the future for the club!

The curtain comes down on the 2023 season but we look forward to off season training camps and the 2024 season which will kick off with a trip to Ireland in May!
